Rupture of membranes

Waiting is difficult!
"When will my baby come?"
Will I always be pregnant?"
Anticipation and apprehension about labor and ability to mother

Pack suitcase for hospital
Simplify housekeeping
Mild activity and exercise
Conserve energy wit relaxation and naps
Put plastic sheet on bed in case membranes rupture
Call physician or nurse midwife if membranes rupture
Complete preparation for baby's homecoming

Treat mother to an evening out at least once a week
Let mother know you love and understand her
Practice relaxation and breathing patterns wtih mother daily
Encourage mother to rest
